SS&G Financial Services, Inc. has been named one of the "Best Employers in Ohio" by the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, Ohio Manufacturer's Educational Council, and Ohio Society of Human Resource Managers for the second straight year.  SS&G was honored in the "Top 10 Large Employers" category of companies with 200 or more employees.  The firm employs a staff of more than 350 throughout Ohio.

SS&G was recognized with the other winning companies at an awards ceremony in Columbus yesterday featuring The Washington Post syndicated columnist and political commentator George Will as the keynote speaker.

"We are extremely proud of this achievement, particularly as 75 percent of this award is based upon anonymous input from our employees," said SS&G's managing partner Gary Shamis. "We tout that our firm is built on the strength of our staff. This recognition demonstrates that our employees feel professionally challenged and appropriately rewarded, appreciate our efforts to provide a work/life balance, and affirms their overall satisfaction with our culture which fosters their value and respect."

Companies from across the state entered the two-part competition, sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield, which evaluated each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems, and demographics. A second part of the survey consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience and was worth three quarters of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.  SS&G was ranked seventh.
