Tip 3: Stay Positive
As we welcome the new year, many of us make resolutions to improve ourselves and our businesses. As a business owner in 2009, one of the most important resolutions that you can make is to stay positive.
These difficult times are tough on not only our finances, but also on our emotions. It's very easy to get caught up in the negativity of the economic situation. We need to work to maintain a positive outlook for ourselves, our companies, and our employees.
A negative or fearful approach from the top will permeate throughout the company. Now more than ever, it's important to have 110 percent from all of our employees. Don't send the impression that the situation is hopeless. Explain the challenges that your company is facing, and empower your staff members to help you turn these challenges into opportunities.
As Winston Churchill said, "Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference." Try to keep a positive outlook and you will see the differences it can make for your business.
